We’re a different kind of party – join ordinary Suffolk people who believe that local government is out of touch and driven by national party politics.

You pay for it, so let’s make sure local government is responsive to the local voice of local people
Community Issues

Jobs

We strongly support the plans of the Suffolk Strategic Partnership (SSP) for higher level skills and job training, (see SSP’s “transforming Suffolk” document). We also believe it would be possible to boost Suffolk’s 1.6 billion pound tourist industry by better promotion of eco tourism and by encouraging Natural England’s plans for the reintroduction of the Sea Eagle to East Anglia (it has done wonders for the eco-tourism business in Mull).

Health

We continue to campaign for the retention of rural surgeries and neighbourhood access and will fight any plans for further reduction in the services for the elderly. The decision to close the purpose-built Day-Care Centre in Bramford by the County Council took place without consultation with the District Council, although the latter owned the property. This should never have been allowed to happen.

Police and safe communities

We will help promote the new Police Community Support Officers program and for more rational speed limits.

Local food

We strongly support local food, farmers markets and independent retail stores and will work to make more allotments available for local people.

Pubs and Post Offices

We will campaign for stricter planning rules on change of user applications which will make it more difficult to convert pubs and post offices into private residences.
